Tech brands of 21st century have taken over century brands.

The previous week has been a great week for Apple as it made history for been voted the number one top riser brand in 2013. This has proved that digital brands are taking the lead in the 21st century hence it is a digital era anyway. Traditional brands like Coca Cola have taken the lead for the past 13-years as a Best Global Brand but it was pushed to fourth place. This is the reflection that brands like apple have enable so many people to do so much so easily, as it influence the way we work, play and shop. Looking at the brands voted in Global Inter-brand in 2013, it is mostly digital brands. Top brands that made it to the top 10 are mostly tech brands like Microsoft, Samsung, Google, IBM and Intel.

We can’t run away from the notion that we’ve been digitalised as consumer purchasing increasingly shifts from a physical experience to a virtual one and transaction-based interactions between brands and consumers shift. But while these brands grace us with new technologies we need to be aware of effects that they may have on us as species. Personal information is now easily accessible on the virtue world for the public to see. Conscious and responsible decisions need to be addressed in order to have safe responsible growing online community.

Big up’s to apple family for the wonderful job, it take the whole organisation to be the best amongst the best.

  1. as South Africa we still a bit behind, if 10MB is still the price of bread, why would I be shopping online? Security too, I myself way skeptical to shop online. But like they say everything has its good and bad.

  2. Yes we have become a digitised society and its no wonder digital brands are occupying first place in these surveys. Let us just hope we don't end up relying to much on these gadgets we love so much.
