I was
fascinated by the video that I came across on vimeo on Galore Urban Art
Festival in Denmark took part in 2013. The video documents artist painting graphite
on social media addiction during the festival. The graphite took five days to
complete and the video took nine thousand still photos to compile. Galore Urban
Art Festival takes part in different countries annually as artists commemorate
and showcase their artworks.
The video
documents online social media addictions I think the message is just amusing
but true. The video is documented in high speed for viewers to keep up with the
speed to demonstrate how people feel about social media. The pace of the video
equals to the hype that social media has created on us to always keep up with
what is happening.
The comments
that were posted were quite interesting as some say “this video is pointless
and nothing new that is written”. I totally agree nothing new written in this
graphite. The question will be are you aware of these addictions or do you
suffer from one? Actually it’s not a matter of old messaging or nothing new,
but the matter is how to conquer these addictions.
